DAYBREAK SHELTER
The primary program components of Daybreak Shelter are triage, engagement, substance abuse stabilization services, outreach and assessment, referral, educational services, and emergency shelter services. All program components are delivered with competencies in culture, language, gender, disabilities, sexual orientation, and age.
Daybreak Shelter is open 24/7 each day for men and women at least 18 years old. Admittance is not granted after 9pm unless escorted by law enforcement. Daybreak Shelter offers emergency shelter for individuals under the influence of alcohol and other drugs.
Every guest has access to breakfast, lunch, dinner, shower, safe, clean sleeping accommodations, case management, and more.
Daybreak Shelter delivers triage services to assess the specific needs of the individual in crisis and direct that individual to the appropriate resources. All individuals are immediately assessed for whether they require emergency medical care, require medical attention related to contagious diseases, or if there are safety concerns. Staff will then work with the clients to determine the level of current engagement and care needed. Daybreak Shelter is committed to opioid overdose prevention and trauma-informed care. Staff approaches clients with respect and support to engage clients and identify their needs. Our trauma informed care is an approach to delivery of behavioral health services.
