“This year is a very important fundraising year for us,” CEO Carina Pappalardo said. “We are witnessing more individuals in need of our services, which have expanded to rapid rehousing and street outreach within Daybreak Shelter’s programming. Sandra, our Housing Manager is placing many individuals in their own places and Sergio, our Street Outreach Manager is welcoming more guests into the shelter. In addition, we are providing our services to unhoused individuals until space becomes available. Pegasus House and Women’s View are also experiencing growth within our teams to provide more services. Pegasus House now accepts females as young as 16 years old. Previously guests had to be at least 18. In addition, our programs need maintenance which adds up quickly. Support at this event, and throughout the year, will help us continue focusing on healthier days for the guests we are blessed to serve.”
